Ruth Okechukwu‘s spirit-charged prophetic anthem “Come Up Hither,” featuring anointed chant minister Theophilus Sunday, stands as a profound invitation into deeper realms of worship and spiritual communion. Released on April 22, 2024, as a standalone single under Kingdom Sounds, the self-produced track represents a masterclass in contemporary apostolic worship and chant-driven intercession.
From the opening moments, “Come Up Hither” establishes an atmosphere of intense reverential awe. Built around a delicate foundation of ambient synth pads, soft keyboard progressions, and subtle strings, the track opens with prayerful restraint. Ruth Okechukwu leads with a pure, emotive vocal delivery that carries deep spiritual gravity, setting a serene and expectant backdrop before passing the torch to the unfolding atmospheric invocation.
The track’s artistic strength lies in its dynamic, unhurried progression and the powerful synergy between both ministers. Theophilus Sunday’s unmistakable vocal grit and passionate chant style elevate the recording into a soaring, atmosphere-shifting encounter. As the production swells with rising percussion, resonant basslines, and layered backing vocals, the simple, scripture-anchored chorus becomes an immersive, sanctuary-like environment tailored for extended devotion and spiritual focus.
Engineered with crystal-clear sound balancing while preserving the raw, unvarnished emotion of an intimate altar experience, “Come Up Hither” avoids commercial constraints to prioritize genuine worship depth. Driven by its hypnotic refrain and intense ministerial passion, the record stands as an enduring, high-impact anthem for long-form prayer sessions, personal retreats, and corporate church gatherings worldwide.
