Renowned Nigerian gospel minister, trumpeter, and revivalist Nathaniel Bassey delivers a deeply intimate, altar-building anthem of prayer in his stirring single, “Call On Me.” Featured on his acclaimed album Hallelujah Live, published under Explosion Music, the track stands as a masterclass in contemporary African live worship and prophetic intercession, expertly crafted to draw believers into direct communion with God.
At its core, “Call On Me” draws inspiration from Jeremiah 33:3, serving as a scriptural reminder of God’s standing invitation for His children to seek His face in prayer. Through his signature trumpet solos, warm lead vocal delivery, and spirit-drenched lyricism, Nathaniel Bassey guides listeners away from human self-sufficiency and anxiety, urging them to cast their burdens upon a listening Father. The song functions as a compelling spiritual altar call, emphasizing that true supernatural answers, revelation, and divine alignment are birthed when believers cultivate an active, unceasing prayer life.
Musically, the live production flourishes under sensitive piano foundations, ambient synth swells, rhythmic acoustic guitar accents, and a steady percussive groove that organically builds alongside a resonant live choir. Nathaniel Bassey’s emotive vocal intensity and spontaneous spiritual exhortations create an immersive, uninterrupted sanctuary experience throughout Hallelujah Live. Ultimately, “Call On Me” stands as an enduring track on the album, empowering worshippers globally to build steadfast altars of prayer and rest in God’s promises.
Lyrics: Call On Me by Nathaniel Bassey
Call on me and I will answer you
Call on me and I will answer you
Wait on me and I will lift you up
Call on me and I will answer you
If only Men will pray
If only they will wait
There’s power in my name to bless
Unlimited resource of heaven’s supply
Waiting for the church to pray
If only Men will pray
If only they will wait
There’s power in my name to bless
Unlimited resource of heaven’s supply
Waiting for the church to pray
Call on me and I will answer you
Call on me and I will answer you
Wait on me and I will lift you up
Call on me and I will answer you
Angels standing by
Waiting for the call
Coming from the ones who pray
I have paid the price
I have paid the price
For everything you need
Just receive them as you pray
Call on me and I will answer you
Call on me and I will answer you
Wait on me and I will lift you up
Call on me and I will answer you
Call on me and I will answer you
Call on me and I will answer you
Wait on me and I will lift you up
Call on me and I will answer you
Ask and it shall be given
Seek and you shall find
Knock and it shall be open
Open to you
Miracles, signs and wonders
Healings, breakthrough, revivals
Ready ready ready
Ready ready for you
Ask and it shall be given
Seek and you shall find
Knock and it shall be open
Open to you
Miracles, signs and wonders
Healings, breakthrough, revivals
Ready ready ready
Ready ready for you
Jesus, Jesus…
Sweet Jesus…
Call on me and I will answer you
Call on me and I will answer you
Wait on me and I will lift you up
Call on me and I will answer you
Call on me and I will answer you
Call on me and I will answer you
Wait on me and I will lift you up
Call on me and I will answer you
